YOU SMALL LIGHT-SKIN CAMPUS GIRL, TAKE IT SLOW!

YOU SMALL LIGHT-SKIN CAMPUS GIRL, TAKE IT SLOW!
By Omolo Stephen

Woman, if you think you are very posh, sit on a glass jar, throw some fart in there and let’s see if it turns into coco mademoiselle perfumekishkish!

There’s nothing as fascinating as bumping into a shallow-head, low-IQ, out-of-the universe naïve, haughty little campus girl (light-skin of course) boorishly bragging about her beauty that she thinks will leadeth her to stardom and self-actualization. Actually, most men tend to believe that campus ladies are up to the ladder.
Nope! Dressing style! They don’t care whether it is raining or shining. They have one of the oldest slogans “freeze and shine”- which seems to be a cliché. Kindly, take it slow before you start walking up and down naked.
As mathematicians and historians always relate the happenings of the past, today and use the same to predict the future. Who doesn’t know that during the Agrarian period women used to put on like the current Muslim fellows, now they are half-naked? What about the future? Series and sequence may predict some nakedness in them.
My own opinion indeed! So ladies, do something before something is done to you.

SERIAL PROSTITUTION AMONG UNIVERSTY STUDENTS

 By Robert Mwandinda

Where is the world’s moral heading to? Advancement in technology and new trends in life and business have revolutionized a lot of changes in our current society. The whole world at large has been swooped by these advancements such that it turns blind to our once treasured virtues of life. Could it be due to the ease with which people intermingle by the use of new technologies or humanity has long been forgotten?

Well, wonders never cease! Having advanced on many areas, the world has witnessed a lot in the so called digital era. Gone are the days when moral was considered indispensable among our societies. Due to intermingling among the people in the world, many of us have embarrassed new practices in life which clone our nativity. The once valued cultural practices are no longer hailed. A lot of borrowing has paved way for cultural aping that has resulted into eradication of our originality. I don’t say this is totally bad but where the world has reached behaviorally is overwhelming.

One of the most irking incidences recently, is the way prostitution has snaked its way among the female students in our learning institutions. Shamelessly, they have ventured into this dirty business inconsiderably. Perhaps greedy for money or increased complexity on livelihood has lured them into adopting easy ways of financing themselves. As a result, turning them into prostitution. For example, in the year 2012, some female students were found and arrested, along the coastal regions of Kenya practicing bestiality so as to get money.

As that is not enough, recently there are so many other cases of sex trade taking place underground, secretly known by the term “sponsorship”. So many young ladies have indulged in looking for financial support by being cohabited by wealthy elderly men. They transact their bodies in exchange for money. For instance, they refer to their financial helpers by the term sponsor. You could more often hear them say,” I am looking for a sponsor” or “I got a new sponsor”.

The most expensive vegetable in Moi University, miraa

Miraa, gomba, khat, handas, call it whatever you like but the fact still remains that it is at the centre of the eye of a storm on whether it is legal or illegal. In Moi, it is the most expensive vegetable and indeed loved by many including the females though most of the time considered a stereotype that males are the most users of the plant.

Day in, day out, students are seen all over the compounds with their mouths swollen as if they have been mugged but on the contrary, it is the particular vegetable rolling in their mouths. the use of big g, juicy fruit, sodas and groundnuts are the so called "tools" that the users take as an accompaniment of the miraa.

Even the country's leaders are seen using this vegetable.

Digitising prostitution.

This is the oldest trade in the world, often its described by men lining along the dimly light streets of Nairobi,Nakuru, Eldoret,Kisumu and other major towns in Kenya waiting for the best ladies in the trade. It's all about females in the business fighting for the best client but then with the coming of the white-man education, the construction of schools and universities, the trade has gone deep into the Kenyan campuses and a large number of men opt for “Call girls” in campus.
The trade has moved from the streets to the universities and this is something that points at the future of Kenya as a nation owing to the fact that prostitution has not been legalized. Technology is one thing that has been instrumental in spreading the menace in the Kenyan campuses. Majority of Students caught in these chains can now close up deals, meet new clients and chat up at the comfort of their beds, right in their rooms thanks to the laptops, tablet and internet bundles that can now be afforded by every comrade.
Many university girls have been accused of trading sex for good grades, their male counterparts on the other hand have not only been accused of giving in to female lectures demand for sex in exchange for good grades but also the desire to live the high end life. The meet up with the lectures cannot be physically arranged, the deals are closed on twitter ,Facebook and Skype.
Then lastly the final actors(students) leave campus to visit “Auntie,Uncle” and that page is closed.

CAMPUS POLITICS

A walk along the academic highway reveals a path that is full of decorations, you may think you are matching on very long path to a wedding ceremony where probably a king will espouse a young African lady. The MUSO politics is just around the corner.
There very long and speeches full of promises that even God cannot deliver. The breath fire, you may think we will land in heave the moment we get them to the office. The tragedy and irony is that we have always landed in hell unwilling. We all are living testimonies of the failures of the incumbent.

The etymological cocoons have their ultimate role in organization and preparation for the politics. These same politics are characterized by high levels of plutocracy and aristocracy at its best. This type of political organization have made the story of moi university politics one of an odoriferous origin whose story is not worth narrating to the future generations. To say the least, the type of MUSO politics we are experiencing is just preamble of university at its abyss. I  am not bitter about campus politics but as a humanitarian  I cannot play the game of the ostrich hiding the head in the sand and assuming the danger is gone.

MOI UNIVERSITY STAFF WANTS VICE CHANCELLOR MIBEI OUT.

Moi University Vice Chancellor Professor Richard Mibei
Staffs at Moi University are unhappy following the reinstatement of Prof Richard Mibei as Vice Chancellor.
Mibei who had been in charge for the past 10 years, had proceeded on leave pending his retirement.
Prof Mibie’s 10-year tenure was to come to an end this September, but he opted to take leave prior to take his bow from the university.
An announcement by the university council chairman, Prof Jenesio Kinyamario, indicated that the council approved Prof Fabian Esamai from the College of Health Sciences to act as the Vice Chancellor until Prof Mibei’s term ended. Consequently, the position was advertised and interviews for the same conducted.
However, on June 14, the institution made a one-sentence announcement on its website and Face book page that read: “Prof Richard K Mibei, Vice Chancellor of Moi University, has been recalled by Moi University Council to resume duties with immediate effect.”
Following the announcement, more than 3,000 members drawn from the University Academic Staff Union (UASU) and the Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Allied Workers demonstrated around the Eldoret-based University chanting, “Mibei must go!” Anti-riot police were deployed thereafter.

INVESTMENTS? WELL,MAY BE TO THE BETTING COMPANIES

By Eric kiogora
Why Can’t I Just Stop?
  • How did this happen? I can’t believe all the trouble I'm in.
  • If I stop betting now, I’ll have to admit I'm a total loser. There's no way I can pay back all the money I owe.
  • If I had the money to invest, I'm sure my luck would change. I just need one more win.
  • Even if I had another win, I'd probably just lose it again.
  • I can't face this mess alone, but I'm too embarrassed to ask for help.
  • I should be able to solve my own problems. How could I be so stupid?
  • I never thought it would get this bad.
Do these statements sound familiar? Most people with gambling problems say they lost control over how much time and money they spend gambling. In Kenya for instance, sportpesa has been able to sponsor the Kenya premier league and make millions of profit courtesy of losers. Inspired by this success, other betting sites are cropping up. Bet in, bet yetu, bet way, just bet, betika name them but the effects of what we are breeding in society are clear for everyone to see. Here are some but, unfortunately affecting us university students directly:
  •   The Kenyatta University student committed suicide on Wednesday, July 6, after losing KSh 80,000 during the Germany vs Italy Euro quarter final match.“He put KSh 40,000 on a Germany win and a similar amount on an Italy victory – both in normal time – but the match ended in a draw in that time,” Daily Nation reported.
  •   Edwin Mogaka was a second year student in the Kabianga University till the day he committed suicide. It’s alleged that on the day of his death, the poor soul had put all ksh. 20,000 ($200) meant for tuition fees in a bet in favor of Chelsea.
Needless to point out that betting without winning is a total disaster but why can’t people get themselves out of this mess. The very simple answer to this is that betting is addictive. You bet today, you lose then you live in self denial that you are not a loser and that you stand a chance of winning in the following bet where you put even a higher stake. In fact, one addicted bettor told me that the only way he would stop betting is may be when he has got no money! Many people who bet excessively have mixed feelings about betting. They know they are causing problems for the people they love. They may become anxious and unhappy, and often hate themselves. But the urge to bet seems too great to resist. They feel they can’t give up on all the time, money and emotion they have put into betting. They can’t accept that they will never win back what they have lost. Some people still believe their system will pay off, their luck will change or they are due to win. Others believe that continuing to bet is the only way out of a situation they are ashamed about.  Of course there are winners, and or even jackpot winners, which cannot be denied but what proportion of bettors, are these winners?
Everything has its positive and negative effects; even betting has its positive impact not only to people but to an economy as well. I personally believe everything has its own good, as long as it is done moderately. It is not bad to bet or go to casinos if it can do you good, but always remember to have discipline and control. Always set limitations in everything you do.
